Attempted Abduction in Cutler
The following press release regarding the Wednesday, August 10th, attempted abduction in Cutler was faxed to our office last night at 8:50pm:
On Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at approximately 11:45 a.m. the Perry County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an attempted child abduction near Cutler, IL.
Perry County deputies and investigators responded to the residence and interviewed family members. It is believed the suspect attempted to abduct a 10 year-old male subject near his residence in rural Cutler. The child was able to get away unharmed.
Investigators are looking for an older model 4 door car, dark in color, possibly blue or black in color. The vehicle may have a light interior with some tears/damage to the seat.
In anyone has information regarding a vehicle matching that description, please call the Perry County Sheriff’s department at 618-357-5212 or their local law enforcement agency.
Illinois State Police, DuQuoin and Pinckneyville police are assisting the Perry County Sheriff’s office in the investigation. No other information is available at this time.
